What does a Personal Support Worker do?
Personal Support Workers (or PSWs) act as an aide and companion to an individual with an intellectual/developmental disability.
Tasks can include (but are not limited to):
Independent living skills like budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, using public transportation, community awareness & safety, job coaching, medical advocacy, social skills, and relationship building.

What does a Supportive Roommate do?
Other than being present at night in case of emergencies, a Supportive Roommate is responsible for working with the individual to organize the household, provide limited day-to-day supports and reminders, and offer companionship.
Supportive Roommates provide live-in support to a person within their home. In exchange for these services, free or reduced rent is provided, with opportunities for additional compensation.
