Disability Beat (www.disabilitybeat.com) is a weekly radio program about and for people with disabilities with a slant toward social justice, community supports, inclusion, accessibility, freedom and choice. The program can be heard anytime online or live on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:00 on WEFT Champaign, 90.1 FM in east central Illinois.
ILLINOIS ASSOCIATION OF MICROBOARDS AND COOPERATIVES
Illinois Association of Microboards and Cooperatives (www.iambc.org) is a project of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities. The project is aimed at helping people live the lives they want to live, with the support of family, friends, community and public resources. The project offers self-advocates, families and friends the opportunity to create Microboards and Human Service Cooperatives, consumer-governed structures that bring resources, authority and responsibility directly into the hands of the people whose lives are most affected by the way support services are organized.
The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP)
The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) (www.theautismprogram.org) is the largest statewide network of services in the nation for individuals diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Thirty community agency and universities make up the TAP Service Network, which provides diagnosis, treatment, support groups, and resources impacting more than 16,000 families a year.
THE ARC OF ILLINOIS
The Arc of Illinois (www.thearcofil.org) regularly hosts events that bring in family members, self advocates, and professionals in the field to educate them on the latest and best practices. The Arc of Illinois also provides updates on a daily basis on all issues involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to this, The Arc of Illinois has many different programs that are there to provide a plethora of resources to help each family member, advocate, and professional with their questions.
THE UP CENTER OF CHAMPAIGN COUNTY
The UP Center (www.unitingpride.org) is a multi-service agency, for youth and adults, which supports and promotes human care, education, and community-building activities directed at furthering the well-being and development of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and ally community of Champaign County.
ONE PEOPLE CU
One People CU (www.onepeoplecu.org) develops programs centered on the agency's core values of creativity, service, & community. Programs include The Lounge, an artist showcase that supports community causes, and the agency's leading program, One People's Summer Arts Camp, a free community-driven arts camp for kids ages 9-14. One People believes by cultivating cultural, educational, and community-engaged experiences experiences, the organization facilitates in high-impact moments of learning, understanding, empowerment, and unity.
