How do I attend an UnConference?

By being present. The UnConference is a community-led event featuring sessions organized by people who want to share their interests with YOU! Some session leaders will be experts and others will be new practitioners looking to expand their community. The UnConference is your opportunity to find your people, learn something new, and get inspired to lead a session next year!

Flexibility will be your greatest strength at The UnConference. There will be sessions you are interested in on the Session Calendar and there will be things you have never heard of before. Try to engage with as many things as possible! You never know what you might enjoy.

If you are really passionate about a particular hobby that doesn't appear on the Session Calendar, then you should add it! Leading an UnConference session is easier than it sounds!

Interested in leading a session?

Community Choices is offering optional session leader workshops for anyone wanting to lead a skill-sharing session at the UnConference. The dates for the workshops are:

Thursday, May 2nd - 5:30pm - 6:30pm - Champaign Library, Room 222

Thursday, May 30th - 5:30pm-6:30pm - Champaign Library, Room 222

Free and open to the public! Come as you are to the workshops, with or without ideas.

Workshops are optional for session leaders. If you do not attend one, you are encouraged to host a session at the UnConference, as well! The UnConference is an opportunity to expand your community through shared interests.

You may have ten people in your session or only two. No matter how many people arrive, these people share your interest and want to exchange ideas and knowledge with you! Small or large, UnConference sessions are a great way to form new relationships with amazing people.

If you have any questions, please contact Hannah Sheets at hannah.communitychoices@gmail.com or (217) 418-8359!
